Inspiring Desire

Inspiring Desire

If creativity has a superpower, it is the ability to inspire.

At concerts and galleries, in theatres and on the endless blogs dedicated to ideas, creativity makes us dance and ponder, opens our minds or touches our hearts. Creative ideas well-expressed can make us both envious and excited about new possibilities.

But of all the desires that creativity can inspire, there’s one that is arguable the most powerful. Because by using the imagination, we can tap into sexual desire.

How amazing that words on a page can create a physical response for even those who have lost touch with their desire. Erotic writing has been proven to help readers reconnect to their desire and is in fact often used by sex therapists in treatments for low libido.

I was so impressed by this discovery that I created a good sex story space to highlight erotic fiction and provide a much-needed alternative to mainstream porn. thegoodbits.com shares the good bits from great books to inspire desire, both the sexy kind, and the kind we like to inspire in advertising, for a product; in our case, books.

Here are some of the stories that have been inspiring desire in our readers.

Tess pulled herself back together. Smoothing a hand down her blouse over her belly, taking a deep breath, and scrubbing all emotion from her face. She took another step back and was about to turn away when Elijah gripped her elbows and towed her back into the hard warmth of his body.

“He’d followed her into her bedroom and caught her hand, tugging her away from the bed to kiss her. Slowly. Lips gentle, tongue threading arousal through her in a loose, glowing weave. With the lust she’d felt in him just minutes before, she’d expected him to tug on that arousal with a harder kiss, tightening her need until she found his belt again and they dissolved into sliding skin.”

Scottie stands in the doorway with a smile of her own. “Is this how you answer the door?” Her gaze sweeps my body from head to toe, taking in my full-coverage vintage bra, the few inches of my stomach on display before moving down to the high-waisted black slacks and my bare feet with the toes painted red.

"Ash catches me, positioning me so I can rest against his chest as Embry kisses me like he’ll never be able to kiss me again. I feel a tugging in my hair and I understand why Ash had me face Embry: he wanted to pull the elegant ballet bun loose and have my hair down and available for him. It spills over my shoulders in silky waves as Embry continues to ravish my mouth, his tongue firm and seeking, his breaths in between kisses fast and desperate.”

I lean my forearms against the railing and suck in a big breath. I’m wearing an oversized white T-shirt, which the breeze flutters around my body. I have no idea how long I stand there, leaning and trying not to think. Just feeling. Eventually I’ll need to get back to bed, but as I turn, I catch a glimpse of something. A warm light emanating from the apartment next to me.

“He stared at her, his gaze lingering on her silk-covered breasts, her surely flushed throat. Charlie felt like an object, a pretty thing being presented for his approval. Why that made her pussy clench, she couldn’t say. A slow smirk spread across his face. “Come on in,” he drawled.”

His eyes were still closed, the fear in his expression just starting to fade. She lifted her head and pressed her lips to his. He didn’t move or even kiss her back, but his lips were soft against hers. She did it again.
